Prescott Valley Library Project Awarded Public Works Project of the Year

Tempe, AZ – April 19, 2010 – The American Public Works Association’s Arizona Chapter has selected the Prescott Valley Library & Yavapai College Building project as Public Works Project of the Year in the Structures ($5M - $25M) category. The award recognizes the partnership between the Town of Prescott Valley, richärd+bauer architects and general contractor Barton Malow Company who, working together, completed the public library and educational facility in October 2009.

Barton Malow completes Maryland General Hospital Expansion

Baltimore, MD – February 15, 2010 – Barton Malow Company has completed the Maryland General Hospital Central Care Expansion, a multi-phase addition and renovation project designed by Hord Coplan Macht Architects. Maryland General Hospital, part of the University of Maryland Medical System, provides comprehensive health care services to the residents of West Baltimore community. Located in downtown Baltimore, planning the logistics of construction around an active and occupied urban facility was one of the main challenges the construction team overcame.

Mewborn Field Earns Gold by Going Green

Atlanta, GA – February 10, 2010 – Shirley Clements Mewborn Field, home of the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Lady Jackets softball team, earned one of the U.S. Green Building Council’s highest honors: LEED for New Construction (LEED NC) Gold certification. It is the first LEED Gold certified sports stadium in the country.

Detroit Metro Airport's North Terminal Named "Build Michigan" Winner

SOUTHFIELD, MI – February 1, 2010 – The Associated General Contractors of Michigan has bestowed its highest honor, a Build Michigan Award, on the North Terminal at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Members of the project team—the Wayne County Airport Authority, construction managers Walbridge and Barton Malow, and architects Gensler and Ghafari—were recognized at the conferral ceremony, January 29, at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel, Detroit. “It’s great to see the North Terminal receive the recognition it deserves,” said Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano.

Barton Malow Company Achieves InfoComm International Emerald AVSP Level Designation

SOUTHFIELD, MI – January 27, 2010 – Barton Malow Company has qualified as an InfoComm International Emerald AudioVisual Solutions Provider (AVSP). This designation recognizes that a percentage of the company’s sales, customer service and technical staff have achieved and maintained individual InfoComm Certification and have completed relevant coursework from the InfoComm Academy.
