Engineering Society of Detroit Honors Barton Malow Project

Southfield, MI – June 24, 2010 — The Engineering Society of Detroit has conferred a Construction & Design Award upon the team that designed and built the Clinical Services Building for Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center). The owner, constructors Barton Malow Company and P.J. Dick in joint venture, and architect Astorino were recognized at the Society’s annual awards dinner, June 23.

Barton Malow Is Crain's For-Profit Employer of the Year

Southfield, MI – June 17, 2010 — Crain’s Detroit Business named builder Barton Malow the recipient of its 2010 For-Profit Employer of the Year Award, based on the success of its LEAPS internship program. Formal conferral took place on Mackinac Island, June 4th, as part of Mackinac Policy Conference (an annual gathering of regional business and political leaders). Vice President Ryan Maibach, program director, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

Barton Malow Breaks Ground on the St. Joseph's Women's Hospital NICU

Tampa, FL – June 11, 2010 – Construction Manager Barton Malow Company has been awarded the St. Joseph's Women's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) project in Tampa, Florida. The 22-month project, scheduled for a 2012 completion, broke ground on Wednesday May 19, 2010 on the St. Joseph's Women's Hospital campus.

Prescott Valley Library Project Awarded Public Works Project of the Year

Tempe, AZ – April 19, 2010 – The American Public Works Association’s Arizona Chapter has selected the Prescott Valley Library & Yavapai College Building project as Public Works Project of the Year in the Structures ($5M - $25M) category. The award recognizes the partnership between the Town of Prescott Valley, richärd+bauer architects and general contractor Barton Malow Company who, working together, completed the public library and educational facility in October 2009.
