First Piece of Structural Steel Placed at New Detroit Arena

The biggest development project in the region is taking another step forward as the first piece of structural steel was set in place. The 41-foot, 4-inch I-beam is part of a $50 million contract awarded to Detroit-based Midwest Steel for more than 9,500 tons of steel. Contracts awarded so far total more than $200 million and a majority, more than $136 million, have gone to Detroit-based or headquartered companies. Olympia Development has made it its goal to award at least 31 percent of contract dollars to Detroit companies.

Daytona Speedway's $400M Makeover to Wrap Up in Less Than 100 Days

On Jan. 12, 2016, Barton Malow, the primary contractor for the $400 million Daytona Rising renovation project, will hand the keys of the massive motorsports stadium to Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood III.
