Outdoor Family Pavilion
Frontline Outreach

Orlando, Florida

Barton Malow Company along with Mims Construction donated Construction Management Services for this outdoor pavilion project. The project consists of a 44’ x 44’ freestanding pavilion that can seat 140 students.

Construction of the pavilion includes a 48’ x 48’ concrete slab with an adjacent 6’ x 6’ slab for barbequing. The pre-engineered structure is made up of pre-framed Douglas Fir glue-laminated timber columns, beams, and rafters. The roof is 3 x 6” Douglas Fir larch edge veed, installed in a random controlled pattern.. The eaves are made of 2” x 8” Red Cedar. The roof is to be a standing seam metal system over Grace Peel & Stick underlayment. Other work includes fluorescent lighting, ceiling fans, and protected outlets and switches. The sitework will include building pad and extension of a small drainage swale.

This facility is for the Frontline Outreach program that serves over 500 children in an under privileged urban area near downtown Orlando. They provide services for preschool, after school, and high school students. The project was complete on October 2, 2009.
