Given The Bosch Group’s reputation as a leading global supplier of technology and services, it only made sense that the company would hire Barton Malow to provide construction management services for its new Technical Center. The new 225,000-square-foot facility houses research and development as well as administrative space for its automotive body electrical and electronics division.

The use of iBolt sensing technology, adaptive cruise control, predictive safety systems, and driver assistance technologies embody the company's commitment to innovation. Additional innovations at the technical center in Plymouth Township include a closed-loop pump system, which recovers heat generated from thermal chambers and compressors in the lab to help heat the facility.

Best of all for Bosch, there were zero change orders on the project and the final construction cost came in 3.5% less than the guaranteed maximum price!

In addition to providing construction management services, Barton Malow self performed concrete on the project, installing jib crane foundations and pouring slabs and pit walls. Barton Malow was also instrumental in the delivery and installation of test chambers on site.

“When other little girls were tying bows in their hair, I was putting on a hard hat. Barton Malow has provided the opportunity to work in many roles, including estimating and project development. The hard hat is still one of my favorite fashion accessories and spending time on the jobsite with our skilled trades is one of my favorite things - the talent and dedication of our team inspires me everyday.”
