Barton Malow Company Announces New Location in Nashville, Tennessee

Nashville, TN — January 7, 2016 — Barton Malow Company, a community-driven construction manager in North America announced the opening of their new office in Nashville, Tennessee.  This expansion comes from the continued growth of Barton Malow’s presence in the Southeast. Barton Malow’s Nashville office is located at 402 BNA Drive, Suite 202, Nashville, Tennessee 37217.

Bringing over 100 years of collective experience to the office, the team most recently partnered in the construction of First Tennessee Park, home of the Nashville Sounds. Since opening day in 2015, more than a half million fans have walked through the gates to watch the Sounds play baseball and also to attend one of the city's newest social-gathering places.  Leaders of the office bring both for-profit and not-for-profit healthcare experience. 

Barton Malow Company brings a diverse portfolio to the Nashville area with other notable regional projects including the Daytona International Speedway Redevelopment, the new Orlando City MLS Soccer Stadium, multiple projects with Florida Hospital, the Columbia South Carolina Minor League Ballpark, BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte, North Carolina and a joint venture partnership in the construction of the new Atlanta Braves Stadium.  

Rod Creach, Senior Vice President

Rod’s 36 year career has given him a diverse understanding of the industry and allows him to lend his expertise in all areas of construction. Serving as Senior Vice President for Barton Malow’s Southeast Region and as a member of Barton Malow’s Board of Directors, Rod contributes his expertise to project teams throughout Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina Georgia and Florida.

Although the Nashville office is the newest addition to the region, Rod, and all of the other team members have special ties to the Music City. Early in his career, Rod spent almost a decade living and working in Nashville. He developed lasting local relationships that have since grown with his recent work on First Tennessee Park.  He, as well as our entire Nashville staff have worked together in this market and are fully vested - not only professionally, but also personally to its success.

James Dushek, Senior Project Manager

Bringing 32 years of experience in the industry and Nashville, James will be leading the Nashville offices to expand relationships with key clients in Nashville and middle Tennessee.  James will look to build upon and expand the company’s project experience in the healthcare, K12 and higher education markets by building a cohesive team.  James has proven track record on a variety of large scale projects in Nashville and the Southeast region. He has successfully managed the completion of over $800 million in construction projects including First Tennessee Ballpark, Nashville, Tennessee, NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital, Jonesboro, Arkansas and Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto, Southaven, Mississippi.

Chris Chatman, Senior Preconstruction Manager

Throughout his 15 years in construction, Chris has gained hands-on experience ranging from field supervision to project management roles. Although a native of Nashville, Tennessee, during his career, Chris has worked in 15 states.  He has successfully managed projects in healthcare, mixed use, military, historic renovations and higher education.  During this time Chris has built over $1 billion of construction projects.

Chris’ passion has landed in Preconstruction Services. For the Nashville office, Chris will lead the Preconstruction efforts including all levels of budgeting, value engineering and subcontractor communications on projects.  

Mike Simzisko, Senior Superintendent 

Mike’s 24 years of local construction experience has gained him both technical and personal skills that enable him to motivate his project team and earn their mutual respect. His first project in Tennessee was 23 years ago and since that time he has established lasting relationships with the local market. Additionally, Mike’s outstanding dedication to safety, quality and productivity is matched by his success in achieving schedule and project goals. He is an expert at coordinating work on occupied sites and supporting owner operations. As Senior Superintendent, Mike provides the first line of trade supervision and will provide leadership to the entire project field team.

Jeff Russell, Senior Project Engineer

With close to 30 years of experience as a subcontractor specializing in demolition and environmental remediation, Jeff has seen many different aspects of construction projects. Whether removing a roof containing asbestos or being responsible for infection control in an occupied hospital OR Suite, the safety of all workers and occupants has always been at the forefront of Jeff’s success. Jeff is known as an expert in implementing the importance of “Team Building” for proper project execution.

Susan Woodward, Senior Administrative Assistant

Susan’s 18 years of experience in construction has given her a diverse view of the business and enables her to lend expertise in her role as Senior Administrative Assistant. She credits her longevity to believing that construction brings together the best teams fitted for each project all through continuous collaboration and partnership from start to finish. Susan is known in the industry for her attention to detail and has a strong reputation for customer service and client satisfaction.
