Groundbreaking at Detroit Medical Center's Pediatric Specialty Center

Detroit, MI – October 29, 2010 — L.S. Brinker Company (Detroit, MI) in joint venture with Barton Malow Company (Southfield, MI) was awarded the construction of the new Pediatric Specialty Center at Detroit Medical Center. The project will break ground on Monday, November 1, 2010.

Located across the street from Children’s Hospital of Michigan, the new Pediatric Specialty Center consolidates outpatient services in a flexible facility that emphasizes primary and preventative care for Children’s Hospital. The five-floor, 105,550 square foot facility includes a general pediatric clinic, comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation clinic, and specialty clinics along with services such as labs, X-ray and immunization facilities, and physicians’ offices. The facility is scheduled for completion in January 2012.

Shepley Bulfinch Richardson & Abbott (SBRA) of Boston, MA is the architect on the new facility.
