Hiring Detroiters is Job No. 1 for Barton Malow

The Ilitch family's Olympia Development, and Barton Malow-Hunt-White [as lead contractor] aims to hire 30 percent Detroit-based businesses with 51 percent Detroit-based worker participation for construction of the Detroit Events Center, future home to the Detroit Red Wings.

Barton Malow and its partners are looking to hire thousands of carpenters, electricians and demolition workers to meet Olympia Development's goal that 51 percent of jobs and 30 percent of contracts go to Detroit residents and Detroit businesses.
