Barton Malow provided construction management services for Florida Hospital Kissimmee’s new 94,500 sf bed tower, expansion and renovation of the emergency department totaling 16,400 sf, expansion and renovation of the central energy plant totaling 4,000 sf, and 33,000 sf of miscellaneous interior renovations. The ED addition includes the addition of two new trauma rooms, 24 general exam rooms, and additional support spaces. The renovation of the existing department allows for expanded waiting areas, improved access for better wayfinding and throughput, and private exam rooms.

Expansion and renovation of the existing central energy plant provides added capacity and redundancy needed to properly operate the existing facility and the expansions, as well as construction of a new chiller plant.

The first floor of the new three-story patient tower includes a new main entrance and lobby to the hospital, relocated central registration suite, new physician lounge, and a new chapel,. The second floor includes 20 new ICU and 20 new PCU beds and space for the relocation of respiratory therapy services. The third floor includes a total of 40 new medical/surgical beds as well as space for the relocation of the pharmacy.
