Inclusion at Barton Malow

Our culture values a workplace where every individual is respected, valued, and encouraged to contribute their unique perspectives. Each person’s ideas and experiences shape how we grow together.

The Inclusion Experience

Belonging + Opportunity

At Barton Malow, we recognize and celebrate the unique attributes, backgrounds, and experiences of every individual. We are committed to providing fair opportunities and fostering a genuine sense of belonging, where everyone is encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas openly.

Consistent + Fair Practices

We continually evaluate our processes to ensure that our practices—including recruiting, hiring, development, and advancement—are fair, consistent, and accessible to all. Our goal is to achieve diverse representation at all levels of the organization and provide team members with equitable opportunities to succeed throughout their career journey.

Strategic Priorities

  • Increase representation of underrepresented groups at all organizational levels
  • Enhance talent systems to promote fairness during the hiring process
  • Embed equity in business practices, policies, and programming initiatives
  • Empower team members to champion inclusive practices, language, and behaviors
  • Develop programming initiatives to cultivate a sense of belonging
  • Conduct analysis and provide transparency to measure progress, identify areas for improvement, and celebrate success

Team Member Networks

Our team member-led groups foster a sense of community by connecting team members with shared experiences and providing personal and professional development opportunities, amplifying diverse voices and perspectives within our organization.

Barton Malow’s four Team Member Networks are:

A forum for early career professionals to network, collaborate, and participate in personal and professional growth opportunities, while positively impacting their surrounding communities.

MOSAIC aims to promote cultural enrichment, visibility, and a positive work experience by celebrating the people and cultures that make Barton Malow by connecting team members across the enterprise in multicultural group discussions

Whether you’re an expecting parent, new parent, single parent, adoptive parent, foster parent, parent with school-aged or adult children, or a caregiver, this group aims to provide opportunities for team members to expand their internal network, share experiences and resources, and gain support throughout the various stages of their parenting and caregiving journeys.

The Veterans Team Member Network was established for active, separated, and retired military veterans and family members of military members to connect by sharing personal stories, providing advice, and sharing information and supportive resources.

Cultivating Positive Team Member Experiences

Barton Malow is committed to creating an environment of continuous learning and development, recognizing and valuing each team member’s contributions. Individuals are empowered to lead their own growth, engage with industry associations they are passionate about, and utilize our internal learning and development opportunities.

Culture of Care

We have joined the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) in pledging to continue to build a Culture of CARE. As part of this program, Barton Malow aims to further build on our commitment to a company culture that allows every team member the opportunity to reach their full potential, be their most productive, and do their best without the fear of harassment, hazing, or bullying.
