Business Diversity

Barton Malow has consistently demonstrated commitment to assisting the development of disadvantaged businesses as well as minority-owned and women-owned businesses. Our use of D/M/WBE firms is based on a corporate policy to support the growth and development of contractors who have the work ethic, desire, and a track record of willingness to be part of a quality team effort.

Good for Business

Business diversity at Barton Malow is not about politics or quotas. And, it’s not about race or gender. It’s about building business and being the contractor of choice. Clients expect and have learned to depend on Barton Malow to deliver inclusion results. Over the years we have developed award winning programs to maximize small, minority and women business participation on our projects.

Proactive Outreach

We solicit bids from D/M/WBE subcontractors for building projects through public notices and through D/M/WBE business organizations. Members of our staff establish personal contact as well.

We package projects to provide opportunity for all types and sizes of D/M/WBE businesses. Specific attention is focused on matching various building components with the capability of target subcontractors.

Barton Malow is active in the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council, the Florida Minority Supplier Development Council, the National Minority Supplier Development Council, National Association of Minority Contractors, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Women Business Enterprise Council – Great Lakes, and we seek support from these organizations and other diverse organizations when necessary.

Be clear about Barton Malow’s commitment to champion small, disadvantaged, minority and women business firms! We will continue to develop creative and innovative approaches to ensure inclusion.
