MICCD is a construction career exploration open to ALL Michigan 7th-12th grade students. With a tested blend of construction education, training and career information booths, hands-on activities, and hands-on equipment operation, MICCD provides Michigan’s young people the chance to see, feel and experience construction work up-close using real tools, equipment, and materials, while standing side-by-side with actual construction professionals.

While MICCD is a fantastic opportunity for your students to explore all that the construction industry can offer them as a future career, it must be noted that this event is not only open to those students interested in construction careers but ALL students exploring career options.  With these high-skill, high-paying construction jobs in Michigan, it is important that our industry reach out to all students especially those that excel in math, science, and English. It has long been a misconception that construction is only for those who can not or do not excel at traditional educational and career opportunities. In reality, that could not be farther from the truth!  We want young people that are interested in learning, are trainable and college ready. Construction is a very demanding, fast-paced, and safety-driven business. With that said, it can also be a very rewarding career for those that accept those challenges, demands, and changes.
