Barton Malow has named Tom Huggins as a Project Executive for its Charlottesville, Virginia office. In his role, Tom will represent the company by overseeing planning and construction activities on projects to ensure their completion according to plans, specifications, schedules, budgets, and contractual commitments.
Tom’s construction career began over 30 years ago as a residential carpenter. Upon graduating from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Building Management, he started working as a Project Coordinator at a local firm. After gaining respect and industry experience, Tom took an opportunity as a Project Executive in the Washington, DC area, where he managed budgeting, project planning, monthly reporting, and other significant operational responsibilities. Through nearly two decades of progressive career growth with an ENR Top 10 Contractor, Tom has established himself as a leader in the Virginia market.
Tom brings valuable experience in diverse markets such as higher education, healthcare, sports, government, and K12. He has led projects across multiple delivery methods, including construction management, general contracting, and design/build. Coupled with his passion, drive, and integrity, Tom exemplifies Barton Malow’s core values and is a welcome addition to the team.
