Barton Malow is currently filling 45 spots across Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb counties for the next cohort of its Boot Camp program, a paid, six-week apprenticeship-readiness program designed to connect motivated individuals with an entry point into the skilled trades. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 29.
Boot Camp participants can expect to spend time on active construction sites, participate in professional development, and gain the hands-on experience needed to pursue a union apprenticeship.
Candidates who successfully complete the Boot Camp Program will be considered for union apprenticeship sponsored by Barton Malow — a direct entry point into a long-term skilled trades career.
Who We’re Looking For
Candidates between the ages of 18 and 24 with an OSHA-10 Certification who are interested in a career in one of these trades:
- Carpenters
- Cement Finishers
- Ironworkers
- Laborers
- Operating Engineers
- Rodbusters

About The Barton Malow Boot Camp
Since 2016, the Barton Malow Boot Camp has offered a paid work experience for those interested in the skilled trades, aged 18-24, to learn industry fundamentals. This program focuses on preparing participants for skilled trades apprenticeships and is a collaborative effort with clients, local governments, trade unions, and professional development partners to address the industry’s labor shortage.
