Barton Malow Team Moves to Phase 2 of E-ROBOT Prize Competition

The Barton Malow-Function Form-Construction Robotics team’s concept was one of 10 entries in the E-ROBOT prize competition to move on to the Phase 2 prototyping stage.

The Barton Malow-Function Form-Construction Robotics team is moving onto the second phase of the E-ROBOT Prize competition, a challenge seeking submissions to catalyze the development of minimally invasive, low-cost, and holistic solutions for retrofits.

Barton Malow Senior Project Engineer Elizabeth (Kindelan) Fox and Senior Project Manager Rebecca Howe partnered with Construction Robotics and Function Form on the Robotic Assisted Exterior Insulated Finish Systems (RAEIFS) and submitted the concept to the American-Made Buildings Prize’s Envelope Retrofit Opportunities for Building Optimization Technologies, or E-ROBOT, Prize competition.

The team’s concept is designed to increase labor productivity, especially amid the labor shortage, as well as minimize material waste and material handling. You can view a video detailing the concept below:
