Barton Malow Senior Vice President of Finance Somil Shah has been named among Crain’s Detroit’s 2025 “Notable Leaders in Finance,” an annual list that recognizes outstanding Michigan financial professionals.
Honorees are selected by Crain’s editors and judged on their demonstrated leadership in the financial sector, their contributions to their respective organizations, and the impact on their local communities.
Somil has nearly 40 years of experience in finance and has been with Barton Malow since 2018. Among many notable contributions as a construction finance professional during his tenure, perhaps most significant is the strategic financial oversight he provided during challenging times, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also played a major role in helping Barton Malow scale from $1.8 billion to $6 billion in revenue within four years.
Somil has also elevated financial discipline among senior leadership throughout his Barton Malow tenure, helping to drive top-line expansion and strengthening the balance sheet through capital efficiency, robust cash management, and prudent financial stewardship.
