Jackie Robinson Ballpark Phase One Renovations Complete

Jackie Robinson Ballpark

Barton Malow has completed the first phase of renovations at the oldest ballpark in Minor League Baseball.

As baseball prepares to honor Jackie Robinson on Wednesday, April 15, a league-wide observance recognizing Robinson’s historic role in integrating Major League Baseball, the ballpark that bears his name has reached a milestone of its own. Barton Malow, in partnership with the City of Daytona Beach and the Daytona Tortugas, has completed Phase One of a comprehensive renovation of Jackie Robinson Ballpark, delivering meaningful improvements to Minor League Baseball’s oldest venue.

Jackie Robinson made his historic spring training debut in 1946 at the ballpark in Daytona Beach, Florida, breaking the color barrier in professional baseball and changing the sport forever. Now, 80 years later, the 105-year-old facility is being transformed into a modern home for the Daytona Tortugas, the Single-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds and a member of Minor League Baseball’s Florida State League, all while preserving its character and historical significance.

Throughout construction, the team has worked to deliver the project with the Daytona Tortugas’ season schedule in mind, ensuring minimal disruption to the fan experience and enabling the broader renovation to continue in subsequent phases. The project began in December 2024 and reached substantial completion in January 2026.
