Though MLB Spring Training ended prematurely, Ballpark Digest continued with its annual “Best of the Ballparks” fan vote to crown the best spring training venues. Among the winners, for the second consecutive year, was Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium. The spring training home of the Detroit Tigers, Barton Malow broke ground on a $48-million renovation project in October 2015 and finished it in time for pitchers and catchers to report in 2017.
Part of the historic TigerTown training complex, Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium is now a state-of-the-art facility with the addition of outfield seating areas, premium group spaces and new administrative and training buildings.
