Groundbreaking at Delphi's New Corporate Technology Center
Kokomo, Indiana ––Barton Malow Company (Southfield, MI) was selected as the construction manager for Delphi’s new Corporate Technology Center and new Utility Building. Federal, state and local leaders turned out to join the construction team and hundreds of Delphi employees for the groundbreaking celebration on Monday, December 13, 2010 near Delphi’s World Headquarters in Kokomo, Indiana.
The Technology Center – a 70,000 SF laboratory building - will support high-technology development and validation activities with a focus on power electronics components for hybrid and electric vehicles. The 10,000 SF utility building will support the utility needs of the East Lincoln Road Complex. Both buildings are expected to be occupied and operational by October 2011. Barton Malow is serving as the construction manager for the projects, as well as providing self perform rigging services.
Ghafari Associates of Dearborn, MI is the architect for the new facilities.
