Joint School for Nanoscience and Nanoengineering Exceeds Local and Minority Participation Goals at Project Milestone

Greensboro, NC – October 20, 2010 — Gateway University Research Park’s Executive Director John Merrill set a goal of 25% minority participation for the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN). This exceeds the state’s standard minimum of 10%. So far, the joint venture of Barton Malow Company, Samet Corporation and SRS, Inc. (BMSS), the team providing construction services on the project, has surpassed that goal by achieving 27.58% minority participation.

Over 100 submissions were reviewed before the selection committee selected the top 23 recipients. Brent Leiter Named Barton Malow Vice President, Columbus

Barton Malow's Ryan Maibach Selected As Outstanding Young Engineer

Southfield, MI – June 24, 2010 — The Engineering Society of Detroit (ESD) conferred the honor of 2010 Outstanding Young Engineer upon Ryan Maibach, Barton Malow Company vice president, at the SoundBoard Theatre at the MotorCity Casino Hotel, Detroit, on June 23.

Each year since 1953, ESD has presented the award to an engineer under age 35 who has made significant contributions to the engineering community.

Formal conferral took place on Mackinac Island, June 4th, as part of Mackinac Policy Conference (an annual gathering of regional business and political leaders).
