The Coldwater Solar project is a 150MWAC (202.4MWDC) solar energy park situated in
Ovid and Coldwater Townships in Branch County, Michigan. As our first solar project in
Michigan with Apex Clean Energy, it will contribute to the growth and sustainability of the renewable energy sector in Michigan and the United States. When complete, the project will generate enough energy to power 28,000 Michigan homes annually.
Pile installation started in early 2025, with panel delivery beginning in the coming months, and
full installation of the project will start in late spring and continue throughout the summer.
Barton Malow will be self-performing the civil sitework, fencing, pile driving, racking
installation, and module installation.
Over 150 team members have contributed nearly 50,000 work hours on site, helping drive the
project forward efficiently and safely. Spread out over 1,000 acres, the project is expected to be
complete at the end of 2025, with operations commencing in early 2026.
