The nationally-contending University of Notre Dame hockey team, fans, coaches and others have helped lay the foundation for a brand new freestanding hockey facility. Rossetti and Barton Malow were selected to design and build the 4,500 seat arena which contains two ice sheets - one regulation and one olympic. Rossetti and Barton Malow have created an environment that speaks to Notre Dame tradition.

The 208,000 square foot facility, located across the parking lot from it’s current facility, the Joyce Center, includes a primary ice rink with seating for 4,500 (easily converted to host other activities); a secondary Olympic ice rink serving as a practice and performance facility; a full complement of locker, team, office, weight training, storage and other support spaces; and ticketing, restrooms, concessions, club space and areas for a community hockey program.

A 1,235 lineal-foot utility tunnel supplies chilled water, water and electric for the new arena.
