Over 900 feet tall and featuring 1.4 million total square feet, the Hudson’s Site will be the ultimate show of the city’s strength. With a mixed-use purpose, the building will house retail, public, office and residential space. During construction, we at Barton Malow are committed to following four project principles that are meant to help the Hudson’s Site reach a physical and cultural peak. We’ll ensure the Design of the building reflects its intent, which is to say that it celebrates the history of the site. The building will also Engage the public with dynamic spaces and an activated streetscape on all sides. It will also Create a unique destination meant to attract visitors, whether local, regional or global. Finally, the Hudson’s site will Celebrate the city of Detroit as a center for innovation and might.
At Barton Malow’s core is the desire to reflect the cities we call home in the projects we build. Through the Hudson’s Site, we’ll be doing exactly that.
About the project: The Hudson’s Site Development project will be located on the site of the former JL Hudson’s department store flagship, along Woodward Avenue between Grand River and Gratiot Avenues. With a tower standing at over 900 feet, the Hudson’s development is planned to be the tallest building in Detroit. The development’s 1.4 million square feet will house 250 residential units, 363,000 square feet of office space, 73,000 square feet of retail space, 75,000 square feet of public space and a ground floor market.
