Two Barton Malow Projects Awarded First Place Recognition

Jacksonville, FL – April 1, 2010 – Construction Manager Barton Malow Company has been awarded two first place prizes from the Associated General Contractor's Central Florida Chapter's 2010 Horizon Awards. The Horizon Awards stand as a testament to each member's skill, ingenuity and commitment that goes into every construction project.

In the category of General Contracting, Municipal Renovation, and Six to Fifteen Million, Barton Malow's Army Aviation Support Facility was awarded first place. This project included construction of a 35,000 sf storage hangar, renovation of an existing 115,759 sf maintenance hangar and installation of 181,000 sf of taxiway and apron paving for an active Army National Guard unit located at Central Commerce Center.

In the category of General Contracting, Municipal New Construction, Six to Fifteen Million, the Rymfire Elementary School 6-8 Addition was awarded the first place prize. The Rymfire 6-8 Addition was a 90,000 sf addition and renovation of the Rymfire Elementary School originally constructed by Barton Malow in 2006 and their fourth project constructed for Flagler County Public Schools.
