Tekla Honors Barton Malow with 2014 North America BIM Award

Southfield, MI –– Tekla has awarded Barton Malow the 2014 North America BIM Award in the Concrete category for its use of the Tekla software on the DAYTONA Rising project at the Daytona International Speedway. Tekla holds the BIM awards competition annually to recognize the innovative use of the software in the categories of Concrete, Steel, and BIM.

DAYTONA Rising is a $400 million reimagining of an American icon – Daytona International Speedway. The project is over 1300 tons of rebar, over 40,000 cyds, and 1.5 million SQFT of slab metal on deck. The Tekla model was used for modeling concrete and rebar from scratch, planning prior to fabrication, and including pour sequences in the model, allowing the on-site field management team to understand all project details prior to executing the work..

The Daytona Rising project was also recognized in the Steel category.  McGill Steel, LLC was awarded the 2014 North America BIM Award in the Steel Category.
