Barton Malow Earns Corporate ONE Award from MMBDC

Southfield, MI – September 19, 2008 — The Michigan Minority Business Development Council (MMBDC) presented Barton Malow with a 2008 Corporate ONE Award, recognizing the company's business diversity program and support of MMBDC goals. Cheryl Bowlson, corporate director of business diversity, accepted the award, August 19, 2008, at Kellogg World Headquarters, Battle Creek, Michigan. Doug Maibach, vice president for corporate affairs, was also in attendance.

MMBDC, a nonprofit organization with members in both the corporate and public sectors, is dedicated to creating business opportunities for certified minority business enterprises.

Barton Malow has won the Corporate ONE Award for seven of the ten years it has been conferred. “The company remains committed to business diversity and will continue to work toward increasing opportunities for minority- and women-owned firms locally and nationally within the construction industry,” says Ms. Bowlson.

The company's recent business diversity recognition also includes the 2007 Corporation of the Year – Construction Sector from MMBDC and the 2007 Trailblazer Award from the Metropolitan Business League, Richmond, Virginia. In addition, Ms. Bowlson was honored last year with a Booker T. Washington Business Association Special Business and Community Service Award.
