Diversity Manager Dannis Mitchell Wins Future Leader Award at Shining Light Ceremony
Barton Malow's Dannis Mitchell took to the stage at the 2018 Shining Light Awards Ceremony. There, she accepted the Dave Big Future Leader award and spoke about her and Barton Malow's role in building partnerships that make a difference where we work.

Talking directly to the crowd her team members, MAC Board Members, local media and more who nominated her for this prestigious award, she referenced the family, friends and coworkers who got her to where she is today.
"Finally, I would like to say thank you, Mr. Bing, for being a true leader. When I had a chance to meet you and we shared our life stories, I couldn't help but notice the similarities we have, including our commitment to family and community, but most importantly, a continuous desire to provide opportunities to the underserved."
Dannis began her career in marketing and business development, and is committed to workforce recruitment efforts and ensuring inclusion of diverse businesses on construction projects. She has developed and implemented programs that provide career pathways to diverse candidates and under-represented populations in the skilled and construction trades. A native Detroiter, Dannis also is committed to the city’s revitalization and dedicates time to organizations like The Children’s Center and Habitat for Humanity.
