2017 Golf Classic Raises $438,000 for the Foundation
For four years, Barton Malow’s Foundation has expanded our impact in the communities we serve by hitting the links. With the help of volunteers, donors and sponsoring companies, the Golf Classic has raised more than $1.3M!
"We build some amazing projects with our partners. Giving back and building stronger communities with those same firms takes our core value of partnership to a new level. It is humbling to see in action our team living our values," says Doug Maibach, Chairman of the Barton Malow Enterprises Board of Directors and Executive Vice President of Barton Malow Company.
272 golfers from 53 different sponsoring companies took part in Barton Malow’s fourth annual Building Communities Golf Classic. The golfers, along with a large team of Barton Malow volunteers, brought their A-game to Oakland Hills Country Club to make a difference in the lives of others. Major benefactors of the event were the Michigan Science Center and the Detroit Pistons Foundation. Centered on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), the Michigan Science Center brings education experiences to middle-school students across Detroit, in addition to hosting the annual Science Construction Expo to introduce students to a future career in skilled trades. The Pistons Foundation matched Barton Malow’s $25,000 donation to give a total of $50,000 to the Detroit Employment Solution Corporation’s campaign for Randolph Technical School. The school provides specialized training in the skilled trades fields and will create a pipeline into construction careers for Detroit youths and adults. Donations to 25 other charitable organizations were also made in our sponsoring companies’ names.
Thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who made this event a huge success!
