Barton Malow Hires Jim Nahrgang, PHR, as Vice President of Human Resources

Southfield, MI – July 17, 2008 — Jim Nahrgang, PHR, joined builder Barton Malow June 2 as vice president of Human Resources. He is based at corporate headquarters in Southfield, Michigan.

Nahrgang has been an HR professional for 23 years, all in the construction industry. Before coming to Barton Malow, he was vice president of Human Resources at Ryan Companies US, Inc., based in Minneapolis, MN.

"Jim's core strengths, emphasizing the connection between construction operations and workforce practices, and building relationships among all offices and job sites, were principal reasons for his hire," says Executive Vice President Tom Porter. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Michigan Tech, and holds PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification. Before entering the field of HR, he played for the Detroit Red Wings and was head coach for the Division I men’s hockey team at Michigan Tech.
