Rob Sayre

Vice President of Systems

Rob Sayre serves as Barton Malow’s Vice President of Systems, focusing on leveraging digital transformation to enhance building processes and client experiences. He oversees Construction Technology, Cybersecurity, Technology Operations, PMO, Product Management, Software Engineering, and Systems. Rob brings more than 25 years of IT leadership and strategy experience to Barton Malow, with a proven track record of driving business transformation for multi-billion-dollar organizations. His career spans roles as Chief Information Officer at Amrock (now Rocket Close) and Bedrock Manufacturing Company — which oversees the Shinola and Filson brands — as well as technology leadership at Bedrock Detroit, Open Dealer Exchange, and Wayne County.

Throughout his career, Rob has delivered measurable impact at scale. At Amrock, he led the development of the first fully mobile mortgage-closing experience — enabling homebuyers to close an entire loan from their iPhone — reaching 1 million eClosings and capturing more than 80% of market share, while disbursing over $40 billion a month. Earlier, at Open Dealer Exchange, he pioneered a paperless car-buying process that eliminated paper from automotive finance entirely; today, customers leave the dealership with a USB drive instead of a stack of documents. For this body of work, Rob was recognized with the 2022 HousingWire Vanguard Award and featured as a subject matter expert in a CNBC special on digital transformation.

Rob earned a Master of Science in IT Management from Oakland University and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix. He holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designation.
