Tampa Construction

Barton Malow has established itself as a construction market leader in Tampa with projects like St. Joseph’s Hospital South, CoolToday Park for the Atlanta Braves, Colossal Curl Water Slide at Adventure Island, and many others.

Previously Senior Director of Barton Malow’s Chicago office, Larry is now responsible for leading all operations in the Tampa Bay region. This includes fostering healthy working relationships among team members, clients, and subcontractors; and overseeing resource management, schedule and budget control, and client satisfaction for all projects delivered by local personnel. Additionally, he brings strong leadership experience on complex projects for clients such as McLaren Health Care, Northwestern University, BayCare Health Systems, and others.

“Well respected by peers for his expertise and positive impact in the industry, Larry’s background in architecture and vast construction knowledge create an unparalleled experience for our clients,” said Director of Orlando Operations Randy Zylstra. “He also brings to the market 30 years of experience partnering with community members to discover new technologies, efficiencies, and speed-to-market opportunities and will continue to support our project teams with best practices, quality programs, and an awareness of evolving trends in the marketplace.”

“Though Barton Malow’s Tampa office may be new, we’ve been building in the area since the early 1970s, and our market growth over the past decade has been tremendous,” Larry added. “We are completing the 420,000 SF, 6-floor BayCare South Florida Baptist Replacement Hospital in Plant City and recently finished the Peppa Pig Theme Park in Winter Haven. I am thrilled for the opportunity to serve new and existing clients in the Tampa Bay region and excited for what the future will bring.”

Larry holds a Bachelor of Science in construction engineering and a Master of Science in civil engineering from Bradley University in Illinois. He is also a member of the Design-Build Institute of America, American College of Healthcare Executives, and American Society of Healthcare Executives.
