Penn State Athletics recently unveiled new renderings and details for the $700 million renovation of Beaver Stadium, a project that promises to transform the iconic venue while preserving its historic roots. The revitalization, led by the Barton Malow-AECOM Hunt-Alexander construction team, is set to enhance the overall fan experience and offer new amenities.

Before the Nittany Lions’ 2024-2025 season, the Barton Malow-AECOM Hunt-Alexander completed nearly 50,000 SF expansions of Gates A, E, and F, creating additional food and beverage amenities and improving field-level circulation through expanded entrances. Other pre-season improvements include higher-resolution video boards, larger ribbon boards, and winterization that allows the stadium to host more events throughout the year.

Now, the renovation work focuses primarily on the west side of the stadium, where significant changes are already underway. The press box was demolished in early January, marking the start of a large-scale demolition of the upper west side of the stadium. Deep foundation work is currently underway, and first steel is set to be erected later this spring.
While the construction teams have already put a significant amount of work in place, work will continue until the renovation is completed in 2027.
