Flying Squirrels Charities Help Refurbish Baseball Fields in the Richmond

With a growing number of young people taking up baseball in Richmond, a local group of businesses has begun working to refurbish baseball fields in the city.

The project, Renovating Richmond’s Recreation, is spearheaded by the Richmond Flying Squirrels Charities, an organization with a vested interest in growing the popularity of baseball in the area as a way to expand its fan base and, maybe one day, its roster.
The group, which also includes Richmond International Raceway Cares, the Barton Malow Foundation and 53 companies, plans to renovate 16 ball fields in the city over the next few years.
