Barton Malow Builders, Johns Hopkins University Present Industry Best Practices for Diverse Businesses

On Wednesday, March 9, the Barton Malow Builders Maryland team partnered with Johns Hopkins University to present best practices to diverse businesses in construction at a workshop titled, “How To Be a Rock Star Contractor: Key Things To Know and Do Once You’ve Won the Contract.”

The event’s attendees were comprised of BLocal alumni from six previous cohorts. BLocal is a collective of Baltimore-area businesses committed to leveraging its influence and resources to create opportunities for local, women- and minority-owned businesses. During the event, presenters shared information on cost-loaded scheduling, pay applications, submittals, active/upcoming bid opportunities, and more.

The BLocal alumni in attendance at the event represented Baltimore-area diverse businesses in construction.

With its participation in the event, Barton Malow’s Maryland office furthered the enterprise’s pledge to support and partner with MBEs, streamline engagement, strengthen relationships, and increase spending with diverse suppliers.
