Delta Energy Park Among ENR Midwest’s Best Projects of the Year

ENR-winning Delta Energy Park

ENR Midwest has awarded Delta Energy Park in Lansing, Michigan, “Best Project, Energy/Industrial” in its 2022 Best Projects competition. The project was among 13 named “Best Project” by ENR Midwest. This is the second major award the project has won this year, with The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC) having named Delta Energy Park “Union Project of the Year.”

The Lansing Board of Water and Light (LBWL) partnered with Lansing Power Constructors, a joint venture between Barton Malow and Clark Construction, with the goal of becoming the largest utility in Michigan to reduce carbon emissions by 80% and generate coal-free power by 2025.

Barton Malow was selected following a competitive bid process to self-perform the site development and centerline erection. Our site development team executed site clearing, grading, and utility installation, and our centerline team executed the major equipment installation.

An independent panel of AEC experts reviewed a total of 64 projects and selected 13 for Best Projects recognition and 10 Awards of Merit across 16 categories. All winning project teams — as well as the selected Owner of the Year, Design Firm of the Year, Contractor of the Year, Specialty Contractor of the Year and Legacy Award winner – will be recognized in Chicago on Thursday, December 1, at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown.
