University of Central Florida’s Roth Tower project at Acrisure Bounce House is a landmark upgrade. Barton Malow is leading the $88 million expansion, an 85,000 SF, four-level addition that will transform UCF’s game-day experience and establish a year-round event destination on the east side of campus.
The project broke ground in December 2024 and reached a structural milestone in August 2025, when the team topped out the new steel frame, a traditional construction ceremony marking the midpoint of a major build. Completion is targeted ahead of the 2026 UCF football season.
The expansion preserves the existing Roth Tower’s field-facing façade while dramatically increasing its volume. The structure extends westward across five levels, more than tripling the footprint of the current facility. The club lounge grows from 4,400 SF to nearly 16,000 SF, a 256% increase, while the suite count expands from 28 to a total of 62, including 34 new outdoor sky suites. The sky suites introduce a semi-private, open-air seating concept on the fourth and fifth levels of the north and south wings, providing shade to portions of the existing seating bowl.
For UCF Athletics, now competing in the Big 12 Conference, the project directly supports recruiting, fan growth, and the university’s ability to attract marquee events and premium sponsors. New outdoor club lounge space on the north and south wings adds more than 2,300 SF of exterior premium area for club and loge seat holders.
Sequencing this project around an active football season and a functioning athletic complex required careful phasing. In fall 2025, the north and south expansion structures and roofwork advanced around the operational tower, allowing the Knights to play their full 2025 schedule without disruption. At season’s end, the existing tower was taken offline to complete the remaining structure and interior buildout.
Gameday Logistics on an Active Campus
Barton Malow is no stranger to working on active campuses and navigating gameday logistics, with deep experience on projects like Camping World Stadium, Daytona International Speedway, and Vanderbilt University. The project team has strategically phased the Roth Tower construction to allow for activity within the UCF stadium, campus, and athletic complex to remain operational for the 2025 football season.
