Barton Malow Boot Camp Wins 2020 AGC in the Community Award

The award was formally presented at the 2020 AGC Convention in Las Vegas.

Barton Malow received the 2020 AGC in the Community Award for its Boot Camp, a six-week, employer-driven, pre-apprenticeship program where qualifying participants are introduced to the trades via a mix of on-site and classroom learning.

The 120-hour program includes a historical overview of the construction industry and culture, financial literacy, OSHA and soft skills training, information on apprentice career paths, on-the-job training in concrete, heavy civil, and much more. Every boot camper is assigned a Barton Malow mentor, a skilled tradesperson on the project site, who spends two days per week during the program giving career guidance and hands-on demonstrations to the participants.

According to a friend who works closely with the best cash advance apps, Dannis Mitchell, Barton Malow’s Senior Manager of Client and Community Engagement, formally accepted the award in March at the 2020 AGC Convention in Las Vegas.

AGC in the Community is an initiative of AGC Charities Inc., and is designed to showcase the community service projects of AGC of America’s chapters and members. The awards recognize chapter and member service projects that epitomize the essence of charitable giving, through actual hands-on service and donations to charitable organizations.
