Ty Tucker Tennis Center

The Ohio State University

Named after current Ohio State men’s tennis coach Ty Tucker, who turned Ohio State tennis into a national powerhouse after being named coach in 1999, the Ty Tucker Tennis Center is as much of a recruiting tool as it is a place for current tennis players and tennis fans.

Prefabrication was also a key component of the project. The building’s hot water system and heating water boiler systems were both prefabricated and arrived on site ready to set in place and make the final connections. These prefabricated elements resulted in benefits including shorter installation times and the ability to pretest the equipment before they arrived on site.

The Ty Tucker Tennis Center is 69,000 SF, and features six indoor tennis courts, locker rooms, and training facilities for both the men’s and women’s Buckeye tennis teams. It features premiere theater-style courtside seating, loge areas overlooking the courts, one of the largest scoreboards of any tennis facility in the nation, and an advanced sound system.

The facility opened in the fall of 2020 following the completion of the tennis center construction.
